Hi, my name is Kim Standerline and I'm a registered nurse/backcare advisor working for a large hospital in the UK. I've been nursing for many years.

One thing that has always made me grit my teeth is when doctors don't explain things in ordinary English to their patients.

Many times after a doctor has completed their ward round I've had to go back to patients and explain their condition to them because they don't fully understand their illness.

These patients are often scared and worried about their illness and because many doctors are so busy (or just don't have the skills needed to interact with their patients), these worries and fears escalate.

Our aim is to give you information in easy to understand english.
